In its never-ending efforts to evolve snowboarding and give riders what they want, Burton created the Abominable Snow Jamthe first ever summer invitational on Mt. Hood. Now in its fourth year, the ASJ is slated for July 10th- 12th at HCSC and Timberline Resort on Mt. Hood’s glacier, with a rain date of July 13th. The event is a great way for some of the world’s top riders to get together for a summer shred session, compete for over $140,000 in prizes and hang out with campers and fans.
Burton has been involved with the world’s best snowboarding events for nearly three decades. By creating events like the Global Open Series, designing innovative products and supporting a team of the world’s best riders, Burton has fueled the growth of snowboarding worldwide. A rider-run, rider-driven company, Burton involves snowboarders in every step of the product development process. Burton’s programs like Chill, a non-profit, after school snowboard program for inner city kids, and Learn To Ride, a resort program that emphasizes proven instruction methods and beginner-specific equipment, encourage everyone to enjoy the sport.
